The main objective of this online workshop as part of the TRATOLOW project was to support policy makers and technical officials in the Western Balkan and Türkiye in adaptation policy making with a special focus was on the topic of "water” – whether too much (flooding) or too little (water scarcity and drought).

For this event, representatives of the European Commission, Member States administration speakers, colleagues from GIZ and national coordinators of the TRATOLOW project, among many other stakeholders, met online the participants from the TRATOLOW beneficiary countries  to further discuss the topic. After a general introduction, different sessions provided an overview of experiences made on the topic of flood risk management, river basin management and drought risk management in the light of climate change (European, transnational, cross-border), success factors and lessons learned in climate change adaptation. The workshop was complemented with interactive group activities, discussing among many others also the future needs in the region.

After the successful completion of the workshop, the participants gained an understanding of current status and activities of adaptation policy developments and the reduction of disaster risk, experiences with linking CCA and natural hazard management, the connection between CCA and water management activities, exchange between stakeholders and the successful linking of CCA and DDR on European, transnational, cross-border and domestic level.
