This one-day online domestic workshop with relevant authorities of Albania and expert presenters from their fields of competence focused on Monitoring, Reporting and Evaluation (MRE). It took place virtually via Zoom on March 29, 2022.
The main objectives were the newest developments in the adaptation MRE at national level, mainly in Europe. For this, best practice examples of monitoring and evaluation of national adaptation strategies, resulting lessons learnt and approaches to commonly faced challenges were shared and discussed with the colleagues from Albania. Topics included: stakeholder engagement, the role of adaptation indicators in monitoring, reporting and evaluation, and the use of knowledge generated by MRE efforts to improve and further promote policy and practice.
Also, the webinar talked about the links of domestic MRE activities to knowledge requirements at different levels of governance (local and international) and provided an interactive space in which the experiences and insights of the speakers and participants can flow into MRE practice in Albania.
The online session not only raised awareness for the need for adapting indicators and monitoring, but also established created a common platform to exchange experiences an inventory for current and potential future deployments of climate change adaptation policy.
