More and more economies move from adaptation planning to the implementation of measures in their national adaptation strategies (NAS) and plans (NAP). At the same time, experiences in implementing adaptation measures increase. Therefore the need for approaches and methodologies to track progress and understand the impact of these adaptation activities becomes more and more important. This TAIEX TRATOLOW one-day workshop thus focused on monitoring and the revision of adaptation policy and measures in Kosovo*.

Within the workshop the most recent developments in Adaptation Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) in Europe at domestic levels were discussed and experiences from other countries, e.g. Austria, Greece, Bulgaria, France and Moldova were shared. These experiences and lessons learned from different countries aimed at answering questions such as: What have these countries learned during the adaptation process? Which of their challenges have been overcome and what could be relevant for the colleagues in Kosovo*?

Further interesting workshop topics included engagement of stakeholders, adaptation indicators and their specific role as well as required and existing knowledge about M&E activities. Furthermore, the workshop looked into domestic M&E activities and needs in light of the revision of the climate change strategy and Action plan and its measures.

The workshop was concluded with a discussion about how to move forward in terms of the climate change policy revision and the implementation of adaptation measures in Kosovo.
