The TAIEX TRATOLOW Domestic Workshop on Experiences of Monitoring the new online system from Türkiye and way forward took place in Ankara, Türkiye, on April 25, 2024. The one-day workshop enhanced the understanding of adaptation Monitoring, Reporting, and Evaluation (MRE) at the national level, with a focus on European countries that have gained practical experience in this field. The workshop provided a platform for exchanging experiences and discussing approaches to commonly faced challenges in adaptation monitoring and reporting.

Sessions covered topics such as the efforts from EU Member States and EEA member countries and the overview provided on the European scale, activities in Türkiye regarding the National Adaptation Strategy and Adaptation Plan (NASAP), approaches for monitoring and evaluation from EU Member States, such as Bulgaria, France and Germany, and interactive group discussions about the way forward for Türkiye.

The workshop aimed to support efforts to increase domestic climate resilience through adaptation planning and actions, with specific objectives including understanding the main elements of adaptation policy making, revising NAS and NAP, and sharing good practices on implementation and progress assessment. Outputs of the workshop included presentations, notes of interactive exchanges, and plans for future actions. Overall, the workshop provided valuable insights and opportunities for collaboration in advancing adaptation monitoring and evaluation in Türkiye.
